Multi-Scene Advice

1. I use Multi-scene rezzer for skyboxes. But whenever I teleport in, sometimes I fall to the ground. It takes time for the SIM to rez previously non-existing objects, and therefore the delays on rezzing might cause avatars to fall. A second teleport right after that should fix the problem. Or consider build a transparent platform under your skybox. 2. Can I rez sitting furniture? Yes, you can rez sitting furniture like beds, sofa, etc. 3. Can I rez vehicles? Yes,  please use "Multi-Scene Dynamic Pin" to prepare your vehicles. 4. Why do doors or windows'  not work well with rezzer? How to fix it? Doors and windows have built-in scripts that change their positions and rotation and they may conflict with the Rezzer Pin script. Consider using the doors and windows that link to a root prim, or use "Multi-Scene Dynamic Pin" script to prepare your objects. 5. Can I rez objects to any location more than 100 m away? Yes. You may manually relocate the already rezzed obje...

Multi-Scene Rezzer Instructions

General impression: 10 x easier to use than a Horizon "crate",  but the usual issues with the "last 1%". objects can be re-positioned and the rezzer remembers them. objects can be added/removed easily multiple scenes not working (yet) autoscan seems to work well, frequency of scan a bit slow seems some buttons are missing - "for sale" ? Copied from rezzer for convenience ... You must have mod and copy permissions for the objects          Or you could lose the objects permanently. Highlights of this rezzer: - Able to relocate rezzed objects in any way you like, the rezzer will remember their latest position even after derez or reset. - One click to rez/derez scene/theme  (you must have MOD and COPY permissions!).  - Group, public, or remote access, great for landlords and store owners - Able to store ~ 100 objects. The actual number of objects that can be stored may vary depending on the memory usage. - When unlocked, objects move/rotate with rezze...

Thinking Small

Image
H&S Couch Set This lovely couch set will set you back over $L 5,000 and occupy 28 prims. But it can be packed in a rezzer all on its own an made part of a rez-on-demand scene, even if there are two owners involved. To use the rezzer for small elements of a scene it is important that the elements be grouped around the crate. Otherwise, positioning can be tricky.  The best way seems to be to put the HORIZONS system in the middle of the scene. Leave the crate where it is created.

A New Home for Cloudy Mountain

Image
Cloudy Mountain Houseboat Prim Breakdown for New Houseboat With all my experience with rez-on-demand scenes, it was time to start over. I just cleared the parcel and selected a new Linden Parcel (reasons for a Prime membership will be discussed later).  After some essential furniture was added by a friend (which can't be included in a rezzer), this is what the parcel looks like. 251 prims free. Several levels include "rez on demand" props: Houseboat (223) Hobbit (143) A-Frame (189) Holodeck (251) RecRoom (253) R&D (251) That's the situation at the moment, with R&D occupied by objects temporarily unpacked by group members. The point is, there are always a lot of prims available, especially for scenes that are *totally* rez-on-demand. For example, there are 20 prims in the Housebook scene that could be rez-on-demand. After a few tweaks, the "almost empty" parcel has 283 prims free out of 351.  351 is the most free prims you can get on a "free...

ABOUT HORIZONS (CRATE FUNCTIONS)

For easy reference, his guide is produced verbatim as it is included in the HORIZONS system. To my knowledge, information here is accurate. Read carefully. This document is found in a newly-rezzed CRATE. I have deleted redunant information but the crate itself has some interesting properties. To my knowledge, these only work with the crate and not if the corresponding scene is rezzed by the HORIZONS system. All by itself, the crate can be used to create a rez-on-demand scene that rezzes only when someone is near. The HORIZONS system has a similar function that clears a scene after nobody is present but not the rezzing of a scene when people arrive.  Advanced Use ========== For advanced options, touch the crate with the left mouse button held, and drag away from the crate, then release. From here you can change the rezzing mode, freeze the scene permanently, and allow access to the owner, group members or anyone. Rez modes are as follows:           ...

HORIZONS PRO USER'S GUIDE

For easy reference, his guide is produced verbatim as it is included in the HORIZONS system. To my knowledge, information here is accurate. Read carefully.  -- Advanced Virtual Reality System A Novatech product by Cheshyr Pontchartrain Version 5.0 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- HORIZONS is an advanced and extremely versatile VR ("holodeck") system the likes of which has not been seen in Second Life. Features include a zero-config installation system, changeable interiors and exteriors, customizable chat commands and sound effects, a prefab packaging system, and a host of tools for content creators. HORIZONS can be used as a home with changing furniture sets and rooms, a holographic roleplay area for sci-fi fans, or a demo rezzer for large or small objects. Capable of creating scenes as large as an entire region, you can easily change an entire sim, or one small room, at the push of a button. HORIZONS is ever-expanding, with new content and features created frequently...

HORIZONS BUILDER GUIDE

For easy reference, his guide is produced verbatim as it is included in the HORIZONS system. To my knowledge, information here is accurate. Read carefully. HORIZONS -- Advanced Virtual Reality System Home and Pro Builder's Guide A Novatech product by Cheshyr Pontchartrain =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ BUILDER'S GUIDE ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ The following guide pertains to the Home and Pro editions of HORIZONS.  When using a recording system, there are two very important requirements.      1.  You may only have one Horizons Pro and one Horizons Home rezzed in the same sim.  You may put several next to each other if they have different owners, but systems with the same owner will interfere with each other.  But fear not -- if you do rez more than one recording deck, it will automatically shut off the others and inform you of their locations.     2.  VERY IMPORTANT!!!  Do not put NO COPY items in a scene . They will be destroy...

A Tour Part 2

Image
HORIZONS PRO VIRTUAL REALITY SYSTEM. I have a love/hate relationship with this rezzer but most problems come from difficulties I have crawling through the documentation and "debugging" strange behavior. Generally speaking, the system works as advertised. Important caveats: Build your scenes more or less exactly as the documentation requires. I will show you a few shortcuts. your scene elements must have copy/mod permissions. "Copy" to allow the rezzer to copy them into sl (rezzing). "Mod" to allow placement of a script in the object. This last requirement seems to be common in all the rezzers I have tried. Even so, some objects will behave oddly. It's best to double check your procedure in this case but eventually give up on stuff that simply won't rez right. Take it from me, it's not worth spending weeks trying to track down whatever is going on in these cases. In the following, I will quote extensively from the documentation that's includ...

A Tour Part 1

h http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ragamuffin/119/30/52 Let me start the tour here. It's a "Linden Home" that is more or less forced on you if you sign up for a premium account. I chose the one with maximum free prims (351) and resisted the temptation to fill up the house with junk. So, at this point, I have 169 free prims. That's quite a lot. I will show you several sky boxes. What they all have in common is they are not rezzed when not being used. This is the "A-Frame" sky box, which rezzes aat 2021 meters only if are present . Note that I am down to 110 free prims, which is still quite a lot. But once I leave this scene i will have 351 again. I will come back to how I build these scenes in the next post. This is the "Hobbit" sky box, based on the lovely and popular  LAQ Decor ~ Picturesque Cottage. I have just 52 prims left after I show up in this sky box, but, at this point, the A-Frame is not rezzed, since I am not present. You can see th...
