A Tour Part 1

Let me start the tour here. It's a "Linden Home" that is more or less forced on you if you sign up for a premium account. I chose the one with maximum free prims (351) and resisted the temptation to fill up the house with junk. So, at this point, I have 169 free prims. That's quite a lot. I will show you several sky boxes. What they all have in common is they are not rezzed when not being used.

This is the "A-Frame" sky box, which rezzes aat 2021 meters only if are present. Note that I am down to 110 free prims, which is still quite a lot. But once I leave this scene i will have 351 again.

I will come back to how I build these scenes in the next post.

This is the "Hobbit" sky box, based on the lovely and popular  LAQ Decor ~ Picturesque Cottage. I have just 52 prims left after I show up in this sky box, but, at this point, the A-Frame is not rezzed, since I am not present.

You can see that quite a few sky boxes could be added this way. In fact, a "bare" 20x20 sky box (400 sq m) will cost about $L 200 a week, about $3 USD, or $36 per year.  If you shop around you can find one with 350 free prims.  Titchy's has an interesting option that gives you 300 prims in a large sky box. The advantage is that you can use one of Titchy's great surrounds with your build. Surrounds make a big difference to the "feel" of your scene.

Then you can chose all your scenes and not get stuck with the "out of the box" Linden Home, nor the need to be a premium member (I will not get into the advantages of Premium Membership at this point).

Then there is the "Holodeck" where I can rez any of dozens of scenes one at a time. Show above is one of my "portal hubs", with 166 free prims (Hobbit and A-Frame not rezzed because I am not there). Holodeck scenes can be quite large: 166 prims is generous.

Finally I have two other platforms high in the "sky" handy for dressing in a low-prim setting and a "lab" one where I tinker with small objects.
