Multi-Scene Advice

1. I use Multi-scene rezzer for skyboxes. But whenever I teleport in, sometimes I fall to the ground.

It takes time for the SIM to rez previously non-existing objects, and therefore the delays on rezzing might cause avatars to fall.

A second teleport right after that should fix the problem. Or consider build a transparent platform under your skybox.

2. Can I rez sitting furniture?

Yes, you can rez sitting furniture like beds, sofa, etc.

3. Can I rez vehicles?

Yes,  please use "Multi-Scene Dynamic Pin" to prepare your vehicles.

4. Why do doors or windows'  not work well with rezzer? How to fix it?

Doors and windows have built-in scripts that change their positions and rotation and they may conflict with the Rezzer Pin script.

Consider using the doors and windows that link to a root prim, or use "Multi-Scene Dynamic Pin" script to prepare your objects.

5. Can I rez objects to any location more than 100 m away?

Yes. You may manually relocate the already rezzed objects to any location in the SIM. Rezzer will remember their latest position.

6. Tips to improve performance

Reduce number of objects by linking as many prims into single linkset as possible. Although this rezzer can handle up to 100 objects (not 100 prims!), it is always a good idea to reduce number of the objects that need to be handled by rezzer and SIM.

7. Can I pack more than 100 objects into single rezzer?

Probably! Max of 100 objects are only recommended, you could always pack more than 100 objects into one single rezzer if there is memory on the rezzer.

8. Pressing buttons on the menu only rez or derez just some particular items.

The first 23 letters of scene names may appear the same. Simply add different character at the beginning of the object names should correct this problem.

9. Rezzer does not rez anything. Instead, it warns me with a script error.

You may have rearranged the rezzer scripts. Simply click the "Reset" button on the Options menu to restart the rezzer.

10. Objects fail to rez to their correct location.

First, make sure you see "Rezzer is found" message after placing the Rezzer pin script into the objects. Check rezzer coordinates in the message to make sure it is the rezzer you are working on. Second, remove any script from  objects that could interfere with Multi-scene rezzer. They include Huge-build script, Large-build script, or any script that sets its location after being rezzed.

11. There is nothing inside the objects except for Rezzer Pin script. Why are objects still rezzed to the wrong places?

You may have rezzed your objects into the ground or too close to the parcel boundary. Consider relocating your multi-scene rezzer.

12. How to perform a hard reset?

First, highlight the rezzer, then select "Reset Scripts in Selection" from Second Life Viewer's "Tools" dropdown menu. This action will eliminate objects' updated position, which puts objects back to their default location.  On the contrary, select "Reset" from rezzer's Options menu only reset rezzer itself not the objects. When you mess up object positions so badly that it is beyond repair, please consider a hard reset.

13. When should I perform a hard reset?

When you mess up objects' in-world position so badly that they are beyond repairable. Hard reset will restore the default location of objects and any manually changed position will be lost.

14. How to set up the rezzer to work on group-owned parcels?

Your group land must allow its members" to rez objects, and then simply assign your rezzer to the group.

When using rezzer on group land, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to assign your rezzer to the group, or your rezzer will not work correctly when you leave your SIM.

15. The objects packed with "Multi-scene Object Pin" script become copy-only objects in the inventory. What is going on?

Objects appear to be copy-only simply because they contain copy-only script. To examine their permissions you will have to rez them in-world.

Some objects once you take back to the inventory may lose certain permissions by themselves. This is due to that these objects may contain limited-permissions prim(s). You might want to contact the original creator of the items for support.

16. Can I create nested rezzers in each scene?

YES.

17. Some mega prims are rezzed fine but when visitors are present some objects fail to appear! What is going on?

Beginning in Dec. of 2012, a new rezzing rule has been implemented on Second Life simulators, which prohibits objects of large bound box (> 64 m) from being rezzed if objects would collide with any non-owner avatar regardless of whether owner is there or not. This behavior has caused confusion and strange behavior for many megaprim objects. New rezzer pin script has included a workaround to solve this problem.
