A Hidden Source of Freebies

Under  Avatar/Chose and avatar, we find a whole bunch of avatars. You probably picked one of these when you joined Second Life. If that was a long time ago, the free avatars are a lot better than your choices back then. You can have some fun fiddling with the "free" outfits. This is especially true for men, who tend to stick with two or three outfits. There are some cool things for men hiding in the free avatars.


If you know anything about getting dressed in Second Life, at least you have some outfits to "borrow". "Baked on Mesh" means that all of these classic outfits can be worn on a mesh avatar.

One of the most interesting free avatar is "Riannon" who comes with a lovely Bento horse.

It's easy to "steal" Riannon's horse and the associated avatar to use with your own mesh avatar.
I leave the rest to your imagination.

One little tip. Using BOM on you mesh body, wear the alpha with the outfit components you "steal". Most things like tops and skirts are "objects" that need an alpha. This is much easier than using your hud to "alpha out" bits of your mesh avatar.

Bow River - Practical Utopia

 This post is home for ideas for the " Practical Utopia " project. It is constantly under revision and open to comments. I call the scenario "Bow River." It will focus on my hometown, Calgary, with an eye on the general region known as "Western Canada." Gender

Here is a great podcast by Natalie Winn that digs deep into this subject. What I have to say is much less interesting. Take time to watch the video. OK but a warning. Much of what I say will make no sense if you skipped the video. Second Life opens up a lot of choices about gender. The thing that some people take 10 years to get is that the choices are about presentation . If you think that a man is somehow "dishonest" by presenting as a woman and demand voice verification, ask yourself why you are not willing to provide a full nude rl picture of yourself in your profile. Not just your cock. You are being "dishonest" by presenting yourself as someone anyone would be interested in fucking. It's useful to see this particular form of prejudice in action in second life.
