A Piano Discussion
[08:33:17] Haggis Margetts: OK
[08:33:19] (You): I write mainly to understand issues
[08:33:24] (You): explain things to myself
[08:33:32] Haggis Margetts: Mhm.
[08:33:43] (You): I wasn't clear about why a Second Life blog - but it's coming into focus
[08:33:56] (You): let me share one about a date yesterday ...
[08:34:37] (You): https://sweetspotsecondlife.blogspot.com/2021/06/austin.html
[08:35:05] (You): giving you a chance to look ...
[08:35:12] (You): be right back 5 mins
[08:39:41] Haggis Margetts: Interesting. He's clearly into feet, but yes, seemed a bit distracted. Or he was looking for something from you that you weren't giving?
[08:39:51] Haggis Margetts: RL can iintrude, of course.
[08:43:30] (You): https://sweetspotsecondlife.blogspot.com/2021/06/hello-world.html
[08:43:48] (You): here is a revision to the *first* post I made - work in progress
[08:43:51] (You): be right back
[08:44:47] Haggis Margetts: Performance art. And a venue to meet people to masturbate with. :p
[08:46:37] (You): well
[08:46:54] (You): in "real life" masturbation is usually a private art form :))
[08:47:14] (You): but it usually involves at least the fantasy of other humans
[08:48:00] Haggis Margetts: Doing it with someone else can be fun as well. But we don't need to talk about my college days....lol
[08:48:34] Haggis Margetts: In SL, you can't assume the stimulus is fantasy of humans. It could be anything....lol
[08:49:24] (You): if your chosen art form is making porn movies or acting in them, the audience masturbating, coming back again and again to see your art, that's gratifying for the artist
[08:50:31] Haggis Margetts: And apparently, it can be lucrative. Cam girls, OnlyFans, etc. From what I've read, there are plenty of people - guys, I assume - willing to pay for that sort of thing.
[08:51:09] (You): we are not all Rembrandts
[08:51:20] (You): but we are all performance artists
[08:51:44] (You): why the fuck to we spend so much time looking good to step out on the world's stage?
[08:51:49] (You): even if its the kitchen
[08:51:57] Haggis Margetts: True. We are all presenting ourselves to others much of the time, in SL and RL.
[08:52:16] Haggis Margetts: And my kitchen 'look' isn't all that great. :)
[08:52:28] (You): why do you care?
[08:52:45] Haggis Margetts: oops
[08:52:48] Haggis Margetts: Care about what?
[08:52:48] (You): about your kitchen look
[08:52:59] Haggis Margetts: I don't. :)
[08:53:01] (You): about how you look by yourself in the bathroom
[08:53:18] (You): but
[08:53:28] (You): suppose you are expecting a pizza delivery
[08:53:44] (You): is your kitchen look good enough?
[08:53:51] Haggis Margetts: Meh
[08:54:10] (You): let me digress
[08:54:43] (You): yesterday and many other days I have had a talk with mother in law (102 in Sept) about why we are alive at all
[08:54:52] (You): so this is not abstract for me
[08:54:54] Haggis Margetts: OK
[08:55:07] (You): I need an answer for the old lady
[08:55:15] (You): one that makes sense for HER
[08:55:34] (You): now HER art form is gardening
[08:55:50] Haggis Margetts: How mucvh iof that can she do?
[08:55:56] (You): astonishing garden - fresh strawberries for desert yesterday
[08:56:09] (You): she's thinking of canning - way too many to eat
[08:56:15] (You): it's a PERFORMANCE
[08:56:17] Haggis Margetts: Good for her, especially at that age.
[08:56:43] (You): it's what makes her life meaningful day by day
[08:57:14] Haggis Margetts: How long is the gardening season where she is? I mean, it's can't be year-round, like knitting.
[08:57:26] (You): she gets up every day, dresses nicely, combs her hair etd then goes out to the garden ...
[08:57:53] (You): year round here but winter is kinda bla - she is miserable in winter
[08:59:24] Haggis Margetts: I imagine she has a lot of great stories to tell. Even if it's simply all the changes she's seen in 102 years.
[08:59:41] (You): "stories" is the key point
[08:59:54] (You): she loves to tell stories to her grandchildren
[08:59:59] (You): performance again
[09:00:16] Haggis Margetts: And passing the family story on to new generations.
[09:00:25] (You): yes
[09:00:32] (You): yes
[09:00:33] (You): yes
[09:02:27] Haggis Margetts: Thinking about the changes *I* have seen in just my lifetime.
[09:03:22] Haggis Margetts: That dress really is fabulous, by the way. Very enticing.
[09:03:56] (You): want a copy? It's full perm
[09:05:05] Second Life: Inventory item 'PANT SUIT TRANSLUCENT' offered
[09:05:06] Haggis Margetts: Haggis Margetts received your inventory offer.
[09:05:11] Haggis Margetts: Sure. Not sure where I would dare to wear it. Thanks!
[09:05:17] (You): you can edit it
[09:05:26] (You): while you have it on
[09:05:35] Haggis Margetts: Oh nice.
[09:06:13] Haggis Margetts: It's funny. I ,love being naked in SL. But when I go places where people are dressed, I tend to be more conservative than many others.
[09:06:58] Haggis Margetts: But I'm talking to someone with a 'Happily Naked' tag. :)
conversation drifts to private matters ...
Much later ...
[10:40:48] Haggis Margetts: You stay healthy and sane, please.
[10:41:14] (You): paradoxically when I feel i'm on the verge of great insight I need to fear for my sanity
